The BDSG (German data protection law) stipulates in §4 g that the person responsible for data protection must publish the following information for the general public, in a suitable manner, according to § 4 e:

4. The purposes of collecting, processing and using data
The business fields, in which the Martin Shipyard is active, include all the classical services of a boat and yacht shipyard. The services range from consultation, through to the design, building, maintenance, repair, restoration, as well as preparation services for winter and the start of sailing season, for boats and yachts. The Martin Shipyard supports, its mainly private customers, through every phase of development, with the desired services. Water and land berths, as well as a comprehensive "overall service" round off the services we have on offer.
The Martin Shipyard, together with its partners, covers the entire spectrum of services in water sport for rowing boats, motor and sailing yachts.
We collect, process, and use data for the purpose of carrying out the services listed above.
5. Description of the groups of persons affected, and the associated data or data categories:
Personal data, primarily on the following groups of persons, are collected, processed, and used:
- customer data (in particular, address data, contract data, data on shipyard services),
- prospective customer data (in particular, product interest, address data),
- employee data, job applicant data, agent-/broker-/agency data (in particular, personnel data for personnel administration and management),
- data on tenants, business partners, agents and brokers (in particular, address, billing and service data),
- data on suppliers (in particular, postal address and functional data)
6. Recipients or categories of recipients that may be informed of the data
- public institutions that receive the data, due to legal regulations (e.g. social insurance agency),
- internal divisions that participate in the execution and fulfilment of the respective business processes (for example personnel administration, accounting, distribution, marketing, revision and IT/ORG.),
- external contractors (service enterprises) according to § 11 of the BDSG,
- external partys, e.g, partners involved in fulfilling customer orders.
7. Rules governing the period of time for the deletion of data
The Legislators have issued diverse obligations and periods of time concerning the storage of data.
After these periods of time have expired, the corresponding data are routinely deleted, provided that they are no longer necessary for fulfilling a contract.
Data that are not affected by this, are deleted when the purposes mentioned under point 5 are no longer applicable.
8. Planned data transferral to third countries
Data are sent to third countries, for the fulfiment of contract purposes, a quasi-contractual mutual trust, and for the consultation and support of those concerned.
9. A general description allowing for an initial assessment of the adequacy of those measures put in place to guarantee secure data processing.
The Martin Shipyard has implemented the appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect the data we hold, against accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction, or unauthorised access.
Our security measures are continuously developed in accordance with technological advancements.
In detail, this means that we store your personal information on secured systems in Germany. Access is granted, solely, to those few individuals who are responsible for the technical or editorial supervision of the systems.
