In a cargo ship bound for Canada

The six 12-metre R-Yachts were all shipped together in a cargo ship bound for Halifax, in Canada. Once there, they were rigged up and sailed to the USA on their own keels, thereby avoiding the US-customs. They reached their destination port after a journey of ca. 500 sea miles.

A short time later (on the 1st of July 1928), the United States abolished the import duty on foreign yachts. (Die Yacht, 1928, Heft 30, S. 10)

Having arrived at its owner Charles L. Harding in Boston, the Anitra was given the Sail number US 5
