Lines drawings of the bow side view

Outline

Bow side view

Due to the fact that yachts are constructed symmetrically, only the starboard side is drawn.

Tip of the bow

Here you can clearly make out the stem post and the frames that are joined to it, as well as the deck beams, which rest upon on the longitudinal beam.

The lower longitudinal beam visible in the left half of the drawing, which runs almost from stern to bow, is the keelson. It reinforces the keel using two longitudinal girders, which run over the floor plates and redistribute the force of the rigging.

Mast section

Mast section

This section aligns directly with the bow on the right and gives an outline of the mast section where the stem post goes over into into the keel base.

You can clearly make out the bolts used to join the stem post and the keelson, and the even thicker bolts, which are used to attach the lead keel to the yacht.
Above the stem post, you can see the pierced-hole steel bracing, which strengthens the yacht in the mast section.

On closer inspection, you notice that the mast is leaning slightly towards astern.
The pierced-hole vertical steel plates directly to the left and side of the mast are for the chain plates.

Front cabin area

The spacious cabin begins directly behind the mast (shown in the right half of the drawing).
You can clearly make out the positions for the door, cupboards, as well as for the upholstered seating (shown in chequered).
