Steel frames - first impression

Some exceptions

Some exceptions

While clearing out the hull, we noticed that some of the steel frames were rusted, although the damage seemed limited.
On closer inspection, however, we discovered some extremely corroded steel girders.
Here is a view looking towards the bow.

Here you can make out the web frame in the mast area.
Besides those, there are many other angle frames with the dimensions 50 x 50 x 5mm.

Stern section

In the stern section, some of the individual steel frames were so corroded that supporting sections were missing.

Here you can see the steel floor plates in the stern section. The floor plates form a riveted connection between the individual steel frames on the port side and starboard side.

The Anitra is a racing yacht and in 1928, the weight of these floor plates was reduced through drill holes in the unburdened parts.
