Steel frames in the keel section

Catastrophic

The true extent of the damage became clear as the keel planks were dismantled. Most of the steel frames were shadows of their former selves and could no longer be described as supporting elements.

No exceptions

All of the steel frames in the keel section were rusted through or completely rusted away.

Bilge water

The damage in the bilge area was so bad that we can assume the yacht must have permanently had a lot of salt water in the bilge area over many years.

The entire length

The steel girders were also rusted in the upper parts of the yacht.

The floor plates in the bow section were also rusted.
