Sailing and Motor Yachts in Mahogany and Teak

Replacing each individual plank

A moving gap

While the sections with new planks is growing from the keel upwards, the old planks are being dismantled one by one.

The planks in the keel area are so heavy, that two workers are required to carry them, and at least three workers are needed to attach them to the frames.

Working in cramped conditions

On the one hand, the workers need sufficient room to work. On the other hand, the stability and shape of the hull must be safeguarded at all times. For this reason, the gap formed by the missing planks mustn’t get too big.
