Stable joint The overlapping joint of the old and new wood should be as long as possible to ensure stability and durability. The new frames are hafted to the old frames by using coaks, which are glued with epoxy resin. The length of the coak is about ten times the thickness of the frame. Later, when the yacht is being planked, these frames are riveted to the planks. The copper rivets are 5 mm thick. |
