Sailing and Motor Yachts in Mahogany and Teak

Old and new frames

Frame after frame

Each old frame must be replaced with a new frame, one at a time.
Each new frame must be joined together with all the other hull parts before the next old frame can be dismantled. The wooden frames alone could not secure the Yacht Anitra.

Guaranteeing stability

Even though nearly everything was cleared out of the yacht, she still weighed over 10 tons. If we were to dismantle several or all of the steel frames at one time, the stability of the hull would be put at risk.

Safeguarding the hull shape

Here in the different sections, you can see how the old frames were replaced by new ones. Only by replacing the frames one at a time, could we safeguard the exact hull shape.

Keeping control

Not only attaching the new frames, but also dismantling the old ones requires great effort: The old rivets to the wood must be removed individually and then the porous steel frames must be carefully manouvered out.
