The forge for heating the rivets

Blazing red

The rivets are heated in the forge until they are red-hot.

Gas oven

The forge is run on propane gas.
On the right, you can see the long tongs, which are used to take the hot rivets out of the forge.

Moving the rivets

Removing the hot rivets with the heavy, long metal tongs turned out to be time-consuming with the heavy, but necessary protective glove. The tremendous heat could still be felt from a distance.
