Pressing and comparing

While two layers were being laminated together under pressure in the left of the photo, the boat builders are continually comparing the dimensions and shape of the new keel base with the original.

Use of clamps

The only way to achieve the necessary long term bearing pressure for laminating, is to use many clamps

Incorporating the rabbet

The rabbet is the groove in the keel base into which we later glue and screw the hull planks.
