Preparations

Before beginning with the restoration, everything had to be completely cleared out of the yacht.

The entire interiors were removed. We had to separate the original parts, from 1928, from those that were fitted later on. Furthermore, we removed the machinery, the oven, the toilet, the pumps, all the technical devices, and the electric systems.

Even though some parts of the interiors looked fine at first glance, like those shown here, they still had to be dismantled.

It is hard to believe just how many things had to be removed from the yacht before the actual restoration work on the hull could begin.

It took weeks until we had carefully dismantled all the parts and could finally see the almost empty hull.
